Call for papers now open
2011-12-19
The seventh consecutive Stockholm Criminology Symposium will be held June 11-13, 2012. Following the research interest of the prize winner, the main theme will be Focusing on Victims of Crime – Comparing Crime Patterns and Improving Practice. As usual, there is also a general theme on Contemporary Criminology. This theme covers a broad range of areas of criminology and crime policy and provides an updated overview of the current state of knowledge.

The registration has opened
2011-12-19
The registration has been opened for the 2012 Symposium. Last day to register is May 16. The Early Bird fee is 2 000 SEK and is valid until April 10. The fee includes access to the scientific program, coffee and refreshments, welcome reception on Monday June 11 as well as the award ceremony and symposium dinner at the China Theater and Berns Salonger on the evening of June 12. Persons wishing to attend the award ceremony and dinner ONLY can purchase a dinner ticket through the online registration form.

Jan van Dijk awarded Stockholm Prize in Criminology
2011-11-17
The 2012 Stockholm Prize in Criminology has been awarded to Professor Jan van Dijk of the University of Tilburg, The Netherlands, for his sustained leadership of the International Crime Victims Survey (ICVS) since 1989.

The next symposium takes place June 11-13 2012 at City Conference Centre in Stockholm. The 2012 Stockholm Prize in Criminology will awarded on the evening of June 12 at the China Theatre in central Stockholm. It is followed by a gala dinner at Berns Salonger, a Stockholm landmark since 1862. The prize winner(s) will be announced during the annual meeting of the American Society of Criminology in November.
